In the Bible we read, "Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people." I too have much cause for gratitude and want to help "make known his deeds among the people."

Before knowing anything about Christian Science I was frail and suffered much every winter from colds and fevers. At one time while suffering great agony from articular rheumatism I found fault with God for not taking me a few years earlier when I was at the point of death from another form of sickness. It was through trying to argue about religion with some Christian Scientists that I discarded my old form of worship and found that God is Love; that God does not send pestilence upon His children or call them to Him through death, but that God is ever present and gives His children life abundant. A threatened recurrence of rheumatism was stopped through one treatment by a Christian Science practitioner. A healing of extreme grief resulted also through one more visit with this practitioner, assisted by the understanding of Life and of the illusory nature of death gained from a lecture on Christian Science.

This Science was indispensable to me when I came to a new part of the country in the midst of a so-called depression, and found it apparently impossible to find permanent work. I went through many severe trials and might have said with the Psalmist, "Many are they that rise up against me," but with the help of a patient practitioner I gradually emerged from the turmoil stronger through the understanding gained during the long siege.
