On February 3, 1931, during the great upheaval in Napier, my husband, my children, and I were divinely protected; my sons and my husband were in the midst of the falling debris in the town. A loving practitioner told me long ago to do protective work for my household. I at once obeyed this loving message, and worked as we are told to do in Christian Science every day. I was not able to do much mental work when the earthquake came, but realized afterwards that the protective work had borne fruit, when my dear ones were safe. I was also protected from the range, as the severity of the shake had caused the boiling meat and vegetables to be strewn over the kitchen floor. God was indeed manifested everywhere, when we were obliged to leave our homes. There was plenty of food, shelter, and warmth. Strangers opened their homes and did all in their power to help.

I for one shall never forget all the dear Christian Scientists in Palmerston and Wellington who were so kind and loving. My gratitude goes out to all those dear ones who prayed that the truth would be revealed to all who know it not.

Every day my heart goes out to God. I am also grateful to Christ Jesus for pointing out the way, and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who labored for the whole of mankind. — (Mrs.) Ada Moss, Napier, New Zealand.
