I am truly grateful for Christian Science and for all that it has meant to my husband and to me. When we took up the study of it, my husband had been suffering for several months from a very severe case of ulcers of the stomach. He tried different doctors and remedies but grew steadily worse. The doctors even had him on a diet. He lost weight and was so weak he could hardly stand. Advised by a friend to try Christian Science, he went to see a practitioner, and after the first treatment was healed. He had not eaten any meat, and very little solid food of any kind, for nearly three months, but that day the practitioner told him to buy his favorite food, go home and eat it, and have no fear. He did so, and enjoyed his first meal in several months. That night he had the hardest spell with his stomach he had yet had, but he stuck steadfastly to the truth and the battle beween Truth and error was won. He went to sleep and slept all night. In a few months he gained twenty-eight pounds.

Shortly after that I became very sick with a severe attack of influenza. I had treatments, and although the healing was slow I was completely in four weeks. I have had only one slight cold since. I was working at the time, was not confined to bed, and lost only two days and a half from my work, although to mortal sense I was very sick. I stuck steadfastly to the truth and was completely healed.

My husband had been a very heavy smoker since he was fourteen years old. He was instantaneously healed of the tobacco habit and has never returned to it. He was also healed of gallstones.
