Recently the world has been much interested in the religion of Christian Science. This is no new religion, but is the restored teaching that Jesus gave nearly two thousand years ago. An earnest, pious woman, Mary Baker Eddy, the daughter of an esteemed family in New England, discovered this Science through earnest study of the Bible and by prayer; and she explained it to the world in her book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which was first published in 1875.

This teaching spread rapidly in America, and from there over almost all the earth. In Germany it became known over thirty years ago. Thousands of adherents are to be found all over Germany, holding regular services in nearly every large town. In Berlin there are at present six Christian Science churches and one society.

The Mother Church, established by the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, in Boston, Massachusetts, keeps in contact with all the branch churches. Regular periodicals which are published in English and other languages are spreading the teaching. The Herald of Christian Science, in German and in French, is published monthly. The Christian Science Monitor, an international daily newspaper, is known as one of the best, most impartial, and distinguished papers in the world with regard to daily news, politics, art, education, invention, and advertising.
