An item in your issue of October 3 spoke of a book...

An item in your issue of October 3 spoke of a book which purports to tell how to be a real Christian Scientist. Please permit me to state that the author of the book in question is not a member of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts. Obviously, one who wishes to make progress in Christian Science should turn to dependable textbooks on its teachings, and not rely on writings that are neither authorized nor approved by the Christian Science movement.

The Bible, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other works by Mary Baker Eddy constitute the only textbooks of the Christian Science denomination. Through studying these books and assimilating and utilizing their spiritual teachings genuine growth in Christian Science may be enjoyed.
