Signs of the Times

[Rev. E. W. Clippinger, as quoted in the Herald, Decatur, Illinois]

We have blundered and brought on a man-made depression; but God has not blundered, and there is no God-made depression. The resources of a man are as strong as the resources of the God upon whom he calls for strength and wisdom. A business plus God is more than a business without God.

Let us take an inventory of ourselves. Let us not dwell upon how much money we have, nor how much wages we have; but on how much hope and enthusiasm we have. Are we critical to the extent that we are hindering rather than helping our fellow man? What is in our disposition has much to do with getting and holding our place in the industrial and commercial world. What is in our faith in God has much to do with both our character and disposition.
