Words alone cannot express my gratitude to God; to Mary Baker Eddy, our revered Leader; and to practitioners and friends who have lovingly helped me on my way from material sense to spiritual understanding.

Over three years and a half ago I was confronted with tuberculosis, both lungs being badly affected. I could not walk a city block without stopping to rest a number of times. As the days went on, I grew steadily worse, having some days as many as six hemorrhages, which would last from five to twenty minutes, leaving me in a weak condition. It seemed many times as if I was about to pass on, but I always clung to the truth. It later became necessary to leave the position I then held. I am very grateful for my healing, and my gratitude is no less because the healing was slow, as many false beliefs were cleared up for me at that time.

I am indeed grateful for my membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for the privilege of serving as an usher.—Clarence A. Burgner, Lakewood, Ohio.
