Malvern Gazette
It is quite evident that "Watchman," in criticizing a lecture on Christian Science in your issue of November 7, has not in the least understood the distinction which Mrs. Eddy draws between the temporal and the eternal, the mortal and the immortal.
Our critic says that it has been "stated by learned and competent judges that Christian Science is neither Christian nor Science." A "competent" judge could never say so. Christian Science is Christian because it is the practice and fulfillment of the teaching of Christ Jesus. It is Science because it is based on divine Principle, and is demonstrated according to spiritual law.
There is nothing illogical in the denial of matter by Christian Science, its premise being that God, Spirit, is infinite, All-in-all, and that His manifestation is the spiritual universe, including spiritual man.
