From early childhood I was thought to be anæmic, and was treated for this by several doctors for years; also for extreme nervousness and weakness, and, at last, for relaxed ligaments. I had much trouble with my intestines. I also suffered with my spine: I could not sit at ease, and had to hold my hands at the back of my head for support. At last three doctors decided that an operation must be performed, but before this the dental doctor said that all my teeth must come out for fear of pyorrhea poisoning; so in May, ten years ago, this was done. The following June I went to a hospital for an operation. I was there for some time and at last came home. The first time I stood on my feet I knew the operation was a failure. Then Christian Science was brought to me by some dear friends. I had never heard of it, but had been taught to read my Bible and to memorize what I had read, which helped me a lot. I tried to understand, and my husband would read to me out of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy. Gradually I began to feel better and was healed of many things. The relaxation of the ligaments was last to disappear, but for the last six years I have been perfectly free from any appearance of these troubles, for which I am truly grateful. I was also healed of sleeplessness and twitching nerves in four days. These had troubled me for over twenty years. I am so grateful for the understanding of God and His Christ, and grateful to Mary Baker Eddy, who was inspired to bring this new-old truth to tired humanity.
I have had deep sorrows since finding Science; two brothers passed on, and also my husband over two years ago. I am more than grateful for the understanding which came to me before these sad times. To know that Life cannot die does help us to live as nearly as we can in the Father's way. It has been my privilege to go through class, also to teach in the Sunday school; and I am a member of The Mother Church. For all of these blessings I am truly grateful.—(Mrs.) Adeline E. Firth, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
