Reflecting Spiritual Light

The student of Christian Science gives careful consideration to the exact metaphysical modus of scientific demonstration and to the part the individual plays therein. It is wise to do this in order that so-called personal sense may not mislead thought into beliefs of self-righteousness, self-condemnation, and kindred conditions of thought resulting from a wrong estimate of personal ability, responsibility, power, and accomplishment.

In human experience, thoughts and ideas naturally express themselves in words. Christian Science is faced with the problem of elucidating the infinite, and also of describing that which is without real entity in terms which indicate the nature of its supposititious existence. Such being the case, the student of Christian Science cannot be too precise in his choice of words in order to conform to Mrs. Eddy's teachings, not alone that he may not mislead others, but also that his own concept may remain clear and uncontaminated.

There is nothing either complicated or subtle in the part the individual plays in Christian Science healing. Spiritual thinking reflects divine Truth in its immortality, immutability, perfection, and harmony. It is important to note that right spiritual thinking does not change the truth of being: it recognizes its natural and normal expression. In Christian Science treatment one knows that God is always imparting health and harmony to each of His ideas. It is this understanding which heals.
