I am indeed grateful for what Christian Science has done for I feel that I owe my life to this great truth. In the year 1919 I had given up all hope of ever being well again. I had been told by two medical doctors that an operation was the only means of relief for gallstone of the liver, chronic appendicitis, tumor in the side, and other internal troubles.

I had a horror of going to a hospital and had often asked God to guide me in what to do. The textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, was handed me to read, and for two nights I read the chapter on Prayer. Its inspiring words were the cause of an instantaneous healing for which I shall never cease to be grateful. I have never felt the need of material help since my healing, for divine Love meets my every need. My greatest desire is to live so that I may deserve the name of Christian Scientist, and help suffering humanity as others have helped me.

I have had many problems to solve, and am indeed grateful to all those who have helped me out of darkness into light, and for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church.—(Mrs.) Mellie Sublett Terry, Williamson, West Virginia.
