On page x of the Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes: "The divine Principle of healing is proved in the personal experience of any sincere seeker of Truth. Its purpose is good, and its practice is safer and more potent than that of any other sanitary method." A recent experience confirms these statements. In attempting to open a can of tinned tongue one of my fingers was deeply cut. The wound was bound up with a piece of linen and the healing work undertaken, special attention being given to the belief of infection. The accident occurred in the early evening, and by the next morning the finger was satisfactorily healed, with the exception of one spot no bigger than a large pinhead, and that entirely disappeared within the next twenty-four hours. There was a sense of stiffness in the finger for several days, but that was the only abnormal condition resulting from the experience.

For this quick and wonderful healing I am truly thankful; also for the instantaneous healing of a sprained ankle and many other blessings which have come to my family and to me through the operation of the truth which Christian Science reveals, which is ever available and ever infallible.
