The article "Manufactured Ailments" in your issue of yesterday may give readers the impression that Christian Scientists resist sickness by willfully ignoring it. Actually, they endeavor to overcome sickness by realizing that no form of evil is supported by the law of God. Man's real nature is spiritual, not fleshly; therefore he is not at the mercy of suggestions of sickness from the body or any other source. It is by reliance on this fundamental fact that Christian Scientists are enabled to heal sickness, and not by attempting to rule out sickness through will-power. Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 144): "Human will-power may infringe the rights of man. It produces evil continually, and is not a factor in the realism of being. Truth, and not corporeal will, is the divine power which says to disease, 'Peace, be still.'"
