I should like to give a testimony in the hope of helping...

I should like to give a testimony in the hope of helping some anxious parent who may be a little doubtful whether Christian Science will meet the needs of children. I wish especially to express my gratitude for the quickness and the efficacy of this wonderful truth in the healing of my little daughter when she was two years of age.

She awoke one morning with a raging fever. I worked to know that she was God's child, made in His image, and that she inherited all good from Him, and nothing from any other source, as God, good, is the only cause. About eleven o'clock, while in my arms, I noticed quite a change in her which caused much fear. She became very rigid, and from her condition I realized she was having a convulsion. Though my fear was great I laid her on the couch repeating that God was here and He was Life. I worked for guidance to know what to do, and at once the thought came to telephone a practitioner. In less than two minutes I was talking to a practitioner over the long-distance telephone. She assured me that God was ever present and I need not fear any material condition; that my child was in God's care always. When I left the telephone and returned to my little girl the fever was gone and she was asking for me. She slept nearly the entire day, the fever going and coming, but in the late afternoon she played with her toys.

I talked to the practitioner again, telling her of the fever, and in her loving way she rebuked my fear and told me to "be still, and know" that God was here. I went to work at once to rid myself of fear and anxiety. I promised to telephone at midnight if the condition had not changed. This was not necessary, for by half past eleven my little girl was sleeping naturally, with normal temperature. The next day there was nothing to show that there had ever been such an experience, for she played the entire day in a natural way.
