Christian Science has healed me of many fears and troubles such as colds, sick headaches, which were considered an inheritance, and burns, and is also healing me of selfpity, restlessness, discontent, and loneliness. In 1902 I was stricken with a so-called malignant disease, supposed to be fatal. Five physicians, of as many different schools, were called, but offered no suggestion of aid—no word of encouragement. I had a great desire to understand Christian Science, and finally the simple statement of Christ Jesus came to me, "The kingdom of God is within you." These words comforted and encouraged me, and have guided my faltering footsteps ever since. I am indeed grateful for the protection they have afforded all these eventful years, as well as for my healing through Christian Science.

That "the lip of truth shall be established for ever" was proved to me when I stumbled and fell in the basement when tending the furnace. A cement wall two feet high built about the furnace was in the direct line of my fall. Instantly the picture of Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus came to my thought, together with his words, "I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always," and with it joy and gratitude flooded my consciousness. I threw up my head, so that my cheek scarcely reached the rough wall, and recognizing at once the sustaining power of a right idea to break the fall, I arose to my feet instantly.
