I wish to give my testimony, with deepest gratitude, for all the blessings which I have received in Christian Science.

A few years ago, when I was a beginner in Christian Science, I burned my eyeball with heated curling tongs. I declared the truth immediately, and then, being in great pain, endeavored to get in touch with a practitioner. I was unable to find anyone to help me, and being in great fear as well as pain, I went to an oculist, accompanied by a friend who was a Christian Scientist. The oculist pronounced the burn a severe one, washed the eye, and put in a few drops of olive oil. The accident had taken place at three o'clock in the afternoon, and it was after seven before a Christian Science practitioner came to me. I was still suffering terribly, having refused the opiate drops the oculist had wished to use. The practitioner sat with me an hour, and returned at eleven to give me a treatment to help me sleep. Before she left the room I was sleeping peacefully, and I did not awake until nine o'clock the next morning. My eye had ceased to pain me, but in the evening my husband took me again to the oculist. He expressed great astonishment on hearing that I had slept without a sleeping draft, and then he examined my eye. I felt nervous at his prolonged silence, until finally he said: "Good, splendid, it could not be better. It is completely healed." I was very grateful for this remarkably rapid healing, and the oculist seemed surprised until I told him that I had had help in Christian Science.

In later years I have had help for severe indigestion, caused by ulceration. This has been entirely overcome, and I enjoy better health than I have experienced for many years. A susceptibility to colds has been overcome. Also, impatience and many other faults of character are lessening. In fact, it would be difficult to enumerate in one testimony the many blessings I have received. I am profoundly grateful to God, to Mrs. Eddy for her teaching, for the Christian Science literature, and for the kindness and consideration I have received from the practitioners who have helped me.
