There are no words with which to express adequately my gratitude for Christian Science and the many healings, physical, mental, moral, and spiritual, received through the study and application of this blessed truth.
My attention was first drawn to Christian Science in 1905 through the healing in one treatment of a child about eighteen months old who had from birth suffered from convulsions, which had failed to yield to medical treatment. In following up this case, I learned about the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and secured a copy. When about halfway through my first reading, I was faced with what seemed to be the certain destruction by fire of a quanity of valuable timber which constituted all our earthly possessions. This fire was traveling at a terrific rate, and appeared to sweep everything before it; but by applying the understanding gained of God's willingness to help and of His presence and power to control the seeming enemy, the fire suddenly died out.
I have been helped and healed many times through the faithful, loving work of a practitioner. A healing that seemed most difficult was that of advanced anæmia. This disease was supposed to be inherited. While the healing seemed slow, every attempt at a return has yielded quickly to treatment.
