In a recent issue of your paper is cited an article by the domprost, in which Christian Science is mentioned as an endeavor to substitute the old gospel with human wisdom's words. As this mention shows lack of knowledge of the teachings of Christian Science, may I be allowed to state the following? Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says in her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 497): "As adherents of Truth we take the inspired Word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." Throughout this teaching it is held that the real man as God's reflection is spiritual, and that matter does not possess any reality; that man and the universe are governed by God, Spirit, and that therefore all is perfect and good. In proportion as this understanding is gained men come under the government of the perfectly good laws of God, and evil loses its seeming power. Christian Science teaches that Jesus proved this truth in healing sin and sickness and overcoming death. It is the aim of the adherents of this teaching to imitate in some degree the works of the Master; and in ever increasing extent there are heard testimonies of healing from all kinds of human suffering through the study of Christian Science.
