[Original testimony in German]
Although I had known of Christian Science for several...
Although I had known of Christian Science for several years, and had seen several healings in my home and believed that with God's help a great deal is possible, I did not take any great interest in this Science until I was placed in a position where I proved that with God's help everything is possible. In our house there is a little towar with a high stone winding stairway leading up to it. One day I slipped on the top step and fell the whole length of the stairs, striking against the wall all the way. At the foot of the stairway in a corner stood a sewing machine, and my head must have struck this. There was a wound on my forehead, and another reaching to the back of my neck. A leg and an arm were badly bruised, and I felt as though something had been dislocated.
My daughter, who is a Christian Scientist, was just visiting a patient, so my grandchild was very much frightened and wanted to call in a physician at once. We telephoned to my daughter, and she promised to come home on the next train. When she saw the wound, and knew that I took little interest in Christian Science, she too wanted to call in the doctor; but I refused to allow her to do so, as I was afraid of him. My daughter cleansed the wound, which was rather a difficult undertaking, and bandaged it, and declared the divine truth to me, whereupon I fell asleep. I remained in bed two days, but felt so well that I got up the third day, and two days later was able to take up my work in the workshop. Although I was eighty years old, in a short time the wound was completely healed, as was everything else.
I hope my testimony will help a dear one who thinks age or conditions can prevent a healing. I am sincerely grateful to God for my wonderful healing.
