It is more than eighteen years since I first heard of Christian Science and came to it for physical healing. I had been in the habit every spring of taking a certain remedy as a blood purifier, but had been cautioned about its use several times by our family physician, who said that if I should take cold while taking it, it was liable to prove disastrous. I had taken it so often and felt no bad effects that I continued the practice. Finally, however, the thing I feared came upon me, and my condition was indeed bad.

During this time my son had been having Christian Science treatment for rheumatism and writer's cramp, and was healed of both conditions. The practitioner had lent him "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and other writings of Mrs. Eddy, and I had read them and insisted on having the same treatment. But my son, thinking my condition so much more serious than his, decided I should have the best physician he could get. We got the doctor, and after several weeks of treatment, instead of improving I grew worse and had to go to bed. My son then decided I had better make a change and wrote to the same practitioner he had had. We mailed a note to him when the children came home from school at noon, and about three o'clock I felt that I was healed. I got out of bed, dressed, and went about my daily work healed, and have had no return of that trouble.

Since that healing Christian Science has been our only physician. We have had problems many,—moral, physical, and financial,—all of which have been solved with this same truth that Jesus said would make us free. Words can but feebly express the gratitude I feel for these proofs that the Word of God realized and declared does protect and heal from sin, sickness, and all other discordant conditions.
