About five years ago I became very ill and decided to have an X-ray examination to find out what the trouble was. The doctor told me, very gently, that I had cancer of the liver, and advised me to see my own physician at once, which I did. After a careful examination, he said I must have an immediate operation, as he also had discovered cancer of the liver, as well as a large abdominal tumor and a serious dropsical condition. On my return from the doctor's I was very much discouraged, and said, "What shall I do?"—and the "still small voice" answered, "I am the Lord that healeth thee."
A short time later, I met a friend who noticed my condition and advised me to try Christian Science. I attended a Wednesday evening testimony meeting and felt more encouraged, though I kept growing worse all the time. I, however, went on trusting in the glorious promise, "I am the Lord that healeth thee," which so wonderfully sustained me. Then I decided to seek a Christian Science practitioner; and the clear understanding of the truth presented to me made it all so plain to me that I was entirely healed—by degrees all my ills left me. I now enjoy perfect health after many years of suffering.
My heart is overflowing with gratitude to God, and I rejoice exceedingly in Christian Science. God's promise has been fulfilled to me, "Unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings." My heart is filled with love to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and to that wonderful woman, Mary Baker Eddy, who has made it possible through her teaching for the sick and suffering to enjoy health.—
