"Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations." That God is our refuge and help in extremity I was able to prove a few years ago. For nearly two years I had suffered from an obstinate skin disease. As I knew just a little about Christian Science I refused to apply material remedies or consult a doctor for nearly a year. I thought by denying error I could overcome it, but in vain. Eventually I did consult a physician, who said he would hardly be able to help me. Then I went to a Christian Science practitioner, and with her loving help I was healed rather quickly. But unfortunately, the healing did not prove to be permanent. After I had overcome the fear of the disease, the fear of erroneous thoughts overwhelmed me; hence the relapse. In my great extremity I became acquainted with a dear practitioner who lived near me. She was able to explain the wonderful teachings of Christian Science, so that the healing which took place this time was not the result of blind faith, but of an understanding of the wonderful truth about God, and I have enjoyed the best of health since. Now I know that infinite Love is always ready to bless us; but we must have confidence in it. Almighty wisdom leads us in wonderful ways, as human sense is silenced.

I am profoundly grateful for a better understanding of God's laws and of man's relationship to God; and it is my sincere desire to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."
