[Written for the Sentinel]

God Be Praised

O Father-Mother God, O Love divine!
I thank Thee for Thy never failing good.
I praise Thee, for all life is only Thine,
Truth understood.

With Thee I leave my loved ones day by day,
For now I see man perfect, upright, free,
And dread no evil. Whither can they stray,
Reflecting Thee?

With Thee I leave my foes, and nothing fear.
Calmly within "the secret place" I dwell,
For hatred is not true, since Love is near;
And all is well.

Gladly I know the troubled world must find,
Turning from darkened sense and useless strife,
In Thee, omnipotent and perfect Mind,
Its only life.

And I rejoice that every grievous sin
Must show itself as nothingness at length;
That every sad and lonely heart within
Thy love find strength.

Oh, may I consecrate all thought to Thee,
Listen more closely to Thy loving call,
Hasten to do Thy will, and clearly see
That Thou art All.
