The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Chicago, Illinois (Eleventh Church).

Lecturer: Frank Bell; introduced by J. George Dietrich, who said:—

It has been truly stated that ignorance is one of the greatest foes of mankind; and to-day we still find altars with this inscription: "To The Unknown God." Christian Science again proclaims to the world in the words of Paul, "Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you." The Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 390), "It is our ignorance of God, the divine Principle, which produces apparent discord, and the right understanding of Him restores harmony." That this is true I have proved to my entire satisfaction. I am one of many who, after having been given up by the medical profession, have been restored to health and happiness through the reading of the Christian Science textbook.
