In the year 1908, through curiosity I attended for the first time a Christian Science Wednesday evening testimony meeting. I did not go there to find fault, but just to find out what it was all about. I listened to the passages from the Bible, as read from the desk; then to the reading from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and it was indeed a revelation to me. I purchased a copy of Science and Health. After reading the book a number of weeks, to my surprise I realized I had been healed of chronic constipation. This healing was very encouraging to me; for it proved that the book which I was reading had healing power. I was determined to read on, but more earnestly. A few years later I was healed of pneumonia, and then I had a healing of fallen insteps; also eyeglasses were removed. Our child was healed of whooping cough and measles. My wife was healed of a nervous breakdown and chronic constipation.
I am grateful for church membership and class instruction; also for all the blessings which have come into my life. All that I am to-day I owe to Christian Science. What I am most grateful for is the spiritual uplift—to be able to see my brother's need and supply it in my Father's name. Words fail to express my gratitude to God, to Christ Jesus, our beloved Way-shower, and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
