The Joy of Loving

There never has been a more beautiful character than that of the master Christian, Jesus the Christ, whose ministry of three years stands out as the most important and eventful period in history. Jesus loved and was loved, because he loved God, good; and his peaceful thought, reflecting the divine, gave him the love of all who understood his teachings.

To love truly is to love intelligently; consequently, this love includes spiritual understanding. Let us look into the quality of the love which permeated every thought and act of Jesus. His acts were the results of his perfect understanding of God and of man's relation to Him. Not one quality of God was lacking; yet the Master had temptations to meet continually. Erroneous suggestions were ever asserting themselves, trying to find room in his consciousness. But did he welcome these unholy guests? No! Herein was his understanding manifested. He said, "The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me." Truly, Christ Jesus loved wisely and well.

There is no greater joy on earth than to love divinely. What does this love include? Kindness, patience, tolerance, unselfishness, honesty, strength. If flawless, it would include all the qualities of the Father-Mother God. Is this love available? Yes, because God is omnipresent Love.
