Among the Churches

Carpinteria Herald

Carpinteria, California (Society).—The Christian Science Society of Carpinteria has now dedicated its church edifice on Walnut Avenue. The building is small, seating about fifty, but most harmonious. It is of cream stucco, and is entered through a portico with Greek columns. Inside it is simple, quiet, and restful. The walls are plain, the only decorations being the two quotations, one on each side of the reading desks. The one on the left is from the Bible, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," by Jesus; and on the right from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." — Carpinteria Herald.
