From childhood I suffered from colds. Gradually they became more and more frequent and severe, till they lasted for weeks, even months. Several times they ended in bronchitis. Since taking up the study of Christian Science, about three and a half years ago, I have been absolutely free from colds, save once, and then the discord left me the day after the first symptoms appeared. For this blessing I shall never cease to be grateful, because it gave me such strength to continue my warfare against error.
I have always been a great lover of nature; so the lessons which our Master has given about the birds and flowers were of great value to me, but not until they were understood through the study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. On page 220 Mrs. Eddy tells us of the snowbird, singing and soaring amid the blasts, that "he has no catarrh from wet feet;" and in the next sentence she says, "The atmosphere of the earth, kinder than the atmosphere of mortal mind, leaves catarrh to the latter." It was after reading these lines that I saw for the first time that I had been a slave to an unreal master; and it then became clear to me, as stated in one of our hymns, that
