The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Bulawayo, South Rhodesia, Africa (Society).
Lecturer: John Randall Dunn; introduced by Mrs. Maude Irene Holdengarde, who said:—
These words uttered by Christ Jesus centuries ago, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest," have all down the ages brought a certain amount of hope and comfort to the human heart; and it is the same promise, repeated in Christian Science to-day, that is drawing untold thousands to its teachings. Many years ago in an hour of dire need I turned to Christian Science for the healing of some one very dear to me, hoping yet scarcely daring to believe its promises capable of fulfillment; and to my joy I saw this dear one instantaneously raised from a bed of suffering to perfect health, instantaneously healed of erysipelas and pneumonia. I realized then that only entire obedience to the teachings of Christ Jesus could possibly perform such wonderful works, and I began what has since proved the most profitable study of my life. In all the years that have intervened I have found Christian Science wholly satisfying and equal to every emergency. In fact, it has been my only healer.
