It is about four years since I began the study of Christian Science, and I am sending this testimony as a small expression of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for us. At that time I was suffering from valvular heart trouble and other discords which usually accompany that complaint, and was very rarely free from pain in my side, especially after any exertion. Absent treatment was commenced; and with the patient, loving help of a practitioner the trouble entirely disappeared in about six months; also a tendency to frequent colds, rheumatism, and severe headaches. I have always been glad the healing seemed slow, as it made me study more than I probably would have done had it been otherwise, and helped me to overcome impatience and to gain a better understanding of what Jesus meant when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

My boy was almost instantaneously healed of bad sight, and two of my children were healed in a few hours of chicken pox and severe coughs, all by absent treatment. I am very grateful for these healings, but I am beginning to realize that healing is the least part of Christian Science. It is for the peace, happiness, and feeling of security which even a small understanding of the truth brings to one's consciousness, that I am most grateful, and for the knowledge that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need," as Mrs. Eddy tells us on page 494 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

I cannot close without expressing my love and reverence for Mrs. Eddy, for her life of self-sacrifice and devotion and the clear spiritual understanding which enabled her to give this truth to the world; also, my gratitude goes out for membership in The Mother Church, for all authorized Christian Science literature, and to the practitioners who have helped me to a clearer realization of the perfect spiritual creation.
