I began the study of Christian Science to be healed of...
I began the study of Christian Science to be healed of hay fever, from which I had suffered since childhood. This healing enabled me to finish my school work that June, instead of giving it up in order to go to a different climate, as I had been obliged to do the previous year. I was very grateful for this. It convinced me that Christian Science is indeed the healing truth of which Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
In the years since that time I have depended entirely upon Christian Science. In addition to many other healings, influenza, appendicitis, and eczema have been quickly overcome under Christian Science treatment; and I desire to thank the kind practitioners who have helped me when my own understanding has not seemed sufficient. Mrs. Eddy says in "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany" (p. 132), "Divine Love is our only physician, and never loses a case." This has been proved in my experience.
I am most thankful for Christian Science because the daily study of its textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," along with the other writings of Mary Baker Eddy, is giving me a better understanding of God and man, and is making me love the Bible as a practical guide and protection in everyday life. Class instruction has proved of great benefit to me in this regard.
