In deep gratitude to Mrs. Eddy I am sending a testimony of some of the many blessings received through Christian Science. My first knowledge of Christian Science came to me about fourteen years ago. Since I had never heard any unkind criticisms about it, and saw people living their religion as well as preaching it, I soon began to read and study it. About that time my little daughter, then four years old, was suddenly stricken deaf as an after effect of a severe cold. Through Christian Science treatment she was completely healed, and the healing was permanent. In these days of rigid medical examination I have been so grateful that the healing took place before she entered school. There have never been any complaints. Through a working knowledge of Christian Science my daughter has been able to complete the grades and high school without ever being absent or tardy.

I have been healed of constipation, which had seemed to demand the everyday medicine. I tried diet, massage, exercise, and so on, but with only temporary relief. It is eight or nine years since I swallowed any medicine—and I am alive to tell the story! I think the last medicine I gave up was a remedy for chapped hands. I used it as long as the bottle lasted, and had chapped hands as long as I used it. At length I saw that it was only faith in the remedy that could seem to produce any effect, and I was then ready to lean "on the sustaining infinite," as Mrs. Eddy so lovingly invites us to do in her Preface to "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. vii). Then the chapped hands soon became a thing of the past.

It would require pages to tell of all the times in a day, through the week, and throughout the years, that a Christian Scientist makes use of a knowledge of Christian Science. I am so grateful to all those dear friends who have aided me to learn of this Science, and that the good work is going on.
