An Associated Press dispatch from Cincinnati of recent date implies that there is a relation between mental suggestion and Christian Science. Christian Science does not employ mental suggestion. On the contrary, this religion, founded by Mary Baker Eddy, follows the words and works of Christ Jesus, who established the only reliable standard for mental practice. He did not use mental suggestion. He said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." Christian Scientists "know the truth" about God and man—that God is good and that man is perfect as the image and likeness of good; and this truth frees them from disease. Thus, the power of God, not mental suggestion, accomplishes healing in Christian Science.
