Church Building
Christian Science churches are built because of what is known of God. Christian Science healing is accomplished because of what is known of God. We have learned, as Christian Scientists, that God is our Life, and this includes our health and our happiness; and when we are confronted with a contradiction of these facts, we turn immediately to Truth for healing. If diseased, we know that the truth about man heals the disease. If sorrowful, we know that God's presence, reflected in right thinking, destroys the grief. In like manner, as Christian Scientists, we are learning to turn to Him with our financial problems; and in the ratio of our fidelity to divine Principle are we successful in seeing limitation lessen, lack disappear, and worry cease.
"The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save" from thoughts of fear, haste, anxiety, personal opinions, and prejudices. A Christian Science treatment is the greatest power for good we possess to-day. It brings about definite or concrete results, although these are often prefaced by human footsteps.
A branch church is declaring continually, through its church services and other activities, the great truths of Christian Science; and as a result, it finds itself expressing growth. The "Come unto me" is being heard by a hungry world, and in proof thereof the seats in many churches are filled to overflowing. Then, directed by God, divine Principle, comes the mental call to "prepare Him room;" and, in obedience, the branch church prepares to build, that more of God's children may learn of Him.
