With reference to an article in your recent issue headed, "Psycho-Analysis and Psycho-Diagnosis," please allow me to say that Christian Science has nothing whatever to do with suggestion or hypnotism. Christian Science is founded on the teachings and practice of Christ Jesus, who said, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." From such healing work, the control of mind over mind is excluded. The textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, uncovers the nature and action of suggestion; and one of the Lesson-Sermons studied in Christian Science churches during the year is entitled, "Ancient and Modern Necromancy, alias Mesmerism and Hypnotism, Denounced." Any one who wishes to know what Christian Science teaches on the subject is recommended to read its textbook.
