[Written for the Sentinel]

Demonstration

To prove my unity with God,
My thought must lowly be,
Giving all power to Him alone,
In true humility.

To help my fellow-man perceive
His heritage divine,
How clear must be the visioning
Of his sonship, and mine.

And love must be the motive pure,
Unselfed, and flowing free,
That moves the heart in tenderness
My brother's need to see.

"Having done all," to steadfast stand,
Unmoved by doubt or fear;
Expectantly and gratefully,—
Behold the Christ appear!
