Letters from the Field

"Please accept these words of grateful appreciation for the privilege I have had in being a guest at the Christian Science sanatorium, and as a testimony of the beautiful healing which is going on there. I cannot say enough in praise of this truly benevolent home. The love and kindness shown by every one connected with the sanatorium in every department, and the sense of harmony that pervades the place, prove that it is under the guidance of divine Principle, and that it is carried on in accordance with our Leader's teachings. From the consecrated work of all of the associates, and their loving service, I have learned many valuable lessons. Since I have known of Christian Science I have tried to be grateful for it, and thought I knew how to be, but I had to go to the sanatorium to learn what real gratitude means. I am truly appreciative of the privilege of being there.

"(Miss) Gertrude M. Higgins, Boston, Massachusetts."

"I want very much to express my gratitude for the privilege of being a guest at the Christian Science sanatorium during the latter part of last year. Many times since, I have looked back on the experience and have realized how much it meant to me. It seemed to me that every one connected with the place was daily proving the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words in 'The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany' (p. 287), 'In love for man we gain the only and true sense of love for God, practical good, and so rise and still rise to His image and likeness, and are made partakers of that Mind whence springs the universe.' The whole atmosphere radiated love and peace; and when I left I knew I had gained a wider vision of God and man.
