It is with a desire to help others that I wish to express...
It is with a desire to help others that I wish to express my gratitude for the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. During the five and a half years that I have been studying it, I have been healed of lumbago, colds, a burn, and other minor ailments; but my last healing was of heart disease and dropsy. After many years' work as a professional nurse, I knew there was no doubt as to the physical signs or symptoms; and I knew also that unless I could be healed through Christian Science I should become a hopeless invalid. However, there was a higher hope in my consciousness. One morning I was greatly distressed, and not being able to get along with my work, I said to myself that I would look for a message from Truth and Love. I went to my room and opened the first book at hand, which was "The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany," by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy; and I read only these lines (p. 192): "The ideal robe of Christ is seamless. Thou hast touched its hem, and thou art being healed. The risen Christ is thine." That was my message, and it was enough. I knew from that moment I was being healed. On the following morning when I awoke the abnormal physical symptoms had gone, and in their place was a sense of joy and peace. There has been no return, for "whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever."
Words are inadequate to express my gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader, who, through her pure thought, was able to make the Word of God practical to this age. I can only try to let my life attest the sincerity my words fail to express.—(Miss) Constance Burton, Ramsgate, Kent, England.
