It is nearly fourteen years since Christian Science became the only physician in our home. When it was presented to me I was a helpless invalid, confined to a bed of suffering and despair from a complication of diseases, among which were heart, nerve, and stomach troubles in their worst form, said to be the result of a double operation which I had undergone a few years before, and which had left me worse than I had been. Chronic tonsillitis and laryngitis had also developed; and my sight was failing so that I could scarcely read, and then only for a few moments at a time. At this point a couple of Christian Science Sentinels were brought to me by one of the physicians who had given up my case. Shortly after this, a gentleman came to my home who told me of his healing and of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After pondering over what I had heard, I decided to investigate this new religion, so asked for help from a practitioner, at the same time procuring a copy of Science and Health. The first few pages which I read convinced me that Christian Science was what I had been longing for. The practitioner visited me once, and the healing was very rapid. In a very short time I was able, with God's help, to go about my daily duties, and have remained well ever since.

The day before I turned to Christian Science the physician told me I was past all help and the end might come any moment. Then it. was that I dismissed the doctor, ordered all medicine to be thrown away, and asked that a Christian Science practitioner be called. In less than one week from that time I was as one raised from the dead into a new life, ushered from darkness into light, to the realization and understanding of that glorious life "hid with Christ in God."

Three months later, our only daughter was taken with infantile paralysis, which caused her to be helpless from the waist down; but, knowing that the Christ was in our home, we took our stand for Truth. In seven weeks she was perfectly healed, with no bad results whatever. This was a complete demonstration in Science, as no material remedies were resorted to at any time.
