Faced suddenly with unusual financial problems, and seeking spiritual healing, I was induced to read the Christian Science Sentinel, and in April, 1910, purchased my first copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Every day since then the Bible and this textbook have guided and sustained me by unfolding the truth about God and man. Little by little, through the unselfish, loving, and always willing help of a neighbor, a Christian Science practitioner, I grasped the truth sufficiently to wish to take my place in the movement. Among my richest blessings I count membership in The Mother Church and class instruction.

Some years ago, in order to still the fear of family and associates, it seemed wise to have a physician's diagnosis of what was termed a severe nervous breakdown. Even though the kindly advice was given to cease all my professional activities of singing and teaching and to rest completely, I was enabled, through Christian Science treatment alone, to carry on not only my regular, but also some necessary additional work.

During the past season, a few days before an important recital engagement, I was attacked with influenza in a form that caused an enlargement of the glands in the throat, resulting in the temporary loss of the singing and speaking voice. Within three hours of the time scheduled for the recital, the healing came, the singing voice returning perfectly. Only the members of my household and the practitioner were aware that I had been ill. For every manifestation of physical healing I am most grateful, since each experience brings a higher understanding of God and of His true creation.
