Christian Scientists do not recognize that disease belongs...
Post
Christian Scientists do not recognize that disease belongs to any particular season, or that "wet feet and chilly winds" are productive of physical discords. We are taught that sickness is of mental origin and that different mental states produce different bodily conditions. On page 220 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says, "Colds, coughs, and contagion are engendered solely by human theories."
It is easy to make statements, but more difficult to prove them; and if the gentleman would acquaint himself with what Mrs. Eddy taught, he would not be unconsciously committed to an allegation which cannot be substantiated. Christian Science is bringing hope, health, and happiness to the world. It insists that the example of Christ Jesus can be followed in all respects, and that we may remember and adhere to his words, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also."
