It is eight years since we had our first healing in Christian Science
It is eight years since we had our first healing in Christian Science. Our son, then eleven years old, had suffered for some time from a pain in the right side. As we had looked into Christian Science only a very little we did not feel that we could trust it, so we sent for one of the hospital physicians, who diagnosed the difficulty as appendicitis. He said the appendix was decayed, and if it broke, death would be the result. He picked up the child and was going to carry him to the hospital, as we lived near, to operate; but I could not bear the thought of the knife being used on him, so I decided then and there to try Christian Science. We called a practitioner, who came at once and gave a treatment, which quieted all fear and anxiety. During the night, however, the boy woke up with great fear that the doctor would come and take him to the hospital. Another application of the truth, as taught by Christian Science, dispelled the fear and the high fever; and there was no more trouble. In a week he was wholly normal, and has never had any trouble since; for which we are all very thankful, as we feel he would not be with us to-day if it had not been for Christian Science. Since then, we have had many other healings, of such ailments as typhoid fever and influenza, for which we had no other help than Christian Science.
We are all sincerely grateful for what little understanding we have of this wonderful truth, and so glad that a way was opened for us to send this testimony. It is surely a blessing to be a believer in Christian Science.
