I feel it a privilege as well as a duty to offer my full measure of gratitude to God and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for Christian Science and its many blessings, which I have enjoyed during the past twenty years. My attention was first attracted to this truth through the healing of one in the home who had spent years in bed because of sickness. An account of this healing appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel of December 30, 1905.

My own blessings have been many. When any difficulty has presented itself it has been met very quickly, either through my own understanding or through the help of a practitioner. During this time I have not taken a drop of medicine, have not used any material remedies within or without, and have not spent one day in bed on account of illness. It occurs to me that to be kept under the shadow of His wing to that extent for twenty years through the understanding of Christian Science is something of a testimonial to God's love and protection and care.

About seven years ago a motorcycle with two men aboard, traveling at high speed, came up from behind, threw me off the bicycle on which I was riding, and landed me on the brick pavement about twelve feet farther along. I was able, however, to rise and walk home. It seemed best to have treatment, as there were indications that the end of the backbone was broken off. As a result of the faithful help of a Christian Science practitioner, I was able to go about my duties each day with very little inconvenience, although it was some time before the effect of the experience entirely disappeared.
