My gratitude is so great for the many benefits received through Christian Science that I feel I must make some expression of it. When at one time influenza was prevalent, the opportunity presented itself for a beautiful demonstration of the power of Christian Science to heal. Mother was away, and father expressed a great sense of fear as I seemed to have some of the symptoms. Christian Science was self-applied at once, but the disease persisted. A great sense of weakness kept me in bed, and a practitioner was called. Immediately she realized the need of destroying fear, and turning to me asked in a most loving way, "Are n't you resting on error instead of on divine Principle?" My attention was then called to these beautiful words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 228): "Nothing inharmonious can enter being, for Life is God;" and I was also told that the Scriptures affirm this, declaring that "we live, and move, and have our being" in God. After the practitioner left I arose and ate an orange. This was on Tuesday; on Thursday of the same week I went for a walk.

It was in the Christian Science Sunday School that the instructions were first received which have proved consistently effectual when applied in the right way. It is with great thankfulness to God, and deep gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, that I testify to the healing power of Truth.—(Miss) Doris Balch, Mattapan, Mass.
