I was born in India, and have spent twenty-six years of my life there. Ever since my childhood I remember being surrounded by people afraid of the effects of the sun, the wind, the rain, fever, diseases, and germs of every description. Under the circumstances, it is not surprising that I imbibed my full share of fear, which led to my falling a victim to chronic dyspepsia, constipation, and nerves, until about five years ago I was threatened with a complete breakdown. And this after spending much money on medical specialists in India, England, and Ireland, and after undergoing so-called cures at Carlsbad and Harrogate!

What I particularly wish to emphasize is the fact that I have been cured practically with the sole aid of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and the Christian Science periodicals, and in a tropical country, residence in which is believed to be especially bad for people suffering from the above ailments. Only for the first two months after coming into Science was I able regularly to receive help from other Scientists; thereafter I returned to India from leave, and during the last two years and a half I have met only three other students of Christian Science, for short periods, and none at all for the last eight months.

Apart from the physical advantages received, I find I have adopted an entirely different outlook on life. Instead of being gloomy, irritable, and selfishly inclined, I now enjoy life. I am able usually to rise above the many petty annoyances that seem to beset one's path in this country, especially in the hot weather, and to devote my thoughts and time to trying to do good to others. Words cannot express my gratitude to God, to our Leader, and to all Christian Scientists who have so patiently helped me when appealed to for advice. The greatest blessing is the knowledge that if one is prepared to work hard along the right lines, nothing can impede one's progress heavenward; also, that all the while we can be of help to others.—Carralumbus Feilman, Hazaribagh, Bihar and Orissa, India.
