[Written for the Sentinel]

Fealty

To Thee each knee shall bow, each tongue shall swear!
So wrote the prophet in an age gone by;
So know we now, to-day, though clanging strife
Claims power in the world through false belief!

Who stands for Truth can never stand alone,
For God supports each right desire and thought.
God and His hosts are camped about us here;
Striving to do His will, we are secure.

What though we sometimes seem to stand alone,
Though others say there is no God, nor care
To heed the message that Love has for all,
Claiming Truth touches not the lives of men!

Let no suggestion claim ascendancy
In our own thoughts; let no quick-spoken words
Serve to unnerve our faith; but let us know
To Thee each knee must bow, each tongue must swear!

Thou art the only power; it must be proved
Thy will be done in heaven and in earth.
We all must take our place, and being still,
Remember, evermore, good is supreme.

Then shall Thy light shine in the lives of men,
And those who have not seen shall see the light,
And seeing, know; and willingly, at length,
To Thee shall bow, to Thee blest homage pay!
