"He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee...

"He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." The meaning of these words of the ninety-first psalm came to me with great clearness a short time ago when I had a wonderful experience of God's love. I was standing one evening in the garden near the kitchen door, against which a large iron ladder was resting. The door was opened hastily from the inside, and by the light from the room I saw the ladder coming towards me. There was little time to move, but I swerved, and the thought came to me, "It can do me no harm." The next instant I was hurled violently to the ground with my left arm underneath me. At first I was somewhat stunned; but I was soon able to get up, though I felt a mass of bruises; and by the sharp pains in my wrist and forearm I knew that the former was sprained. Later on in the evening I was obliged to go into Paris. While there I had a little time free, so I took out a Sentinel and read the testimonies. I was in great pain, but I read steadily on, endeavoring to fix my thought on what I was reading. When I had finished, I suddenly realized that my body no longer ached, and that my wrist and arm were perfectly well. The next day I was able to play the piano as usual, and I had no trace of bruises or stiffness whatsoever.

I have received numerous blessings. One is the overcoming of sleeplessness. I used to lie awake night after night, and hardly knew what it was to sleep all night. Now I never know what it is to remain awake; my nights are most restful. I cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science, to Christ Jesus for having shown us the way, and to Mrs. Eddy for following so closely in his footsteps. I am also very grateful for the periodicals, through which God's children are enabled to help one another joyfully and lovingly along the rugged way.
