While it is true that Christian Science teaches the unreality...
Daily Times
While it is true that Christian Science teaches the unreality of sin as a part of God's creation, it does not ignore sin as a phase of human experience. In fact, sin is held by Christian Science to be one of the procuring causes of disease; and because of this the primary object of its healing ministry is to destroy sin in human consciousness, and thus establish better physical conditions by first effecting a spiritual regeneration of those who turn to it for help. This Science, furthermore, teaches that sin is punished just so long as it is indulged. In refutation of our critic's statement that according to the teachings of Christian Science Jesus was not a Saviour from sin, it is only necessary to refer to the Tenets of this religion, as found on page 497 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the fourth one of which reads as follows: "We acknowledge Jesus' atonement as the evidence of divine, efficacious Love, unfolding man's unity with God through Christ Jesus the Way-shower; and we acknowledge that man is saved through Christ, through Truth, Life, and Love as demonstrated by the Galilean Prophet in healing the sick and overcoming sin and death."
