In II Samuel we read, "God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect." For the understanding, even in a small degree, of the truth in this statement I wish to add my psalm of gratitude. Eleven years ago, after being condemned to an operation by a specialist on account of a frontal sinus condition, for which I had taken medicine for over a year without any relief, I turned to Christian Science for help. I had only a vague idea of what a Christian Science treatment meant; but I had heard a wonderful testimony given at a Wednesday evening meeting, and realized that Christian Science did heal. I asked for help; and after three treatments, two of which were absent, I was entirely healed. Other diseases which were also overcome were acute inflammatory rheumatism, bronchial pneumonia, and intestinal influenza. The last-mentioned healing was brought about entirely by absent treatment in less than two weeks through the help of a loving practitioner. These are just a few of the many blessings I have experienced through the power of Truth.

One experience, which meant a great deal to me and helped to increase my spiritual growth, occurred last winter; and I am most grateful for it. I started to church one Sunday, but had not gone more than fifty yards from the house when I slipped and fell on the ice. I got up and fell again; and then a third time. This time resentment came into my consciousness, and with it a broken arm. Nevertheless, I proceeded to church, where I asked for Christian Science help, which was very lovingly given. I suffered no pain through the service, although I was unable to lift the arm. When I reached home it was necessary to cut my glove off; and the other members of my household, while tolerant of Science to a certain extent, could not see it from my standpoint and insisted on my having the bones set. It was impossible to get in touch with a physician until late in the afternoon, when he came and set the arm. He was most intolerant of Christian Science, and said it would be seven weeks before the splint could be removed. I remember the practitioner impressed on me two things: to work for patience, and to know that "progress takes off human shackles," as Mrs. Eddy says on page 256 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It took only four weeks to make the demonstration.

I am so grateful for Christian Science, which has taught us how to apply the Word. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; for the wonderful privilege of class instruction; and to the dear practitioner who so unselfishly and patiently helped me to correct many erroneous mortal mind concepts by replacing them with Truth and Love. For all these blessings I am truly grateful.—(Mrs.) Leona Zurn Fehling, Germantown, Philadelphia, Pa.
