I was a worker in the Baptist church for fifteen years. In studying the Bible I loved to read how Jesus healed sickness; and I wished this healing might be for us at the present time. I used to pray that I might know more about Jesus' healing. Since I have begun to understand Christ, Truth, as revealed in Christian Science, the Bible has become a new book to me. I have truly been made free, for I was in bondage. I had been sick for a number of years; and at that time, when forty-five years old, all my troubles seemed to get worse, until I was a nervous wreck. My heart was so badly affected I could not walk a distance of five rods. My eyes were in such a serious condition I could read only a few lines at a time. Only those who knew me best knew what I went through. My doctor told me he had done all he knew how to do for me unless I was operated on. Another physician said I would not be able to do any work for several years. The doctor who had attended me for twelve years was away from town for a few weeks; and I was in such a serious condition that I felt I must see another doctor. The morning I was getting ready to do so the words in Psalms, "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help," came to me. Those words kept recurring to me; and when I got to town it just seemed that God led me to a Christian Science practitioner instead of to the doctor. She was so kind and good, it made me feel better to see her. After talking with her for a while my husband and son both wanted me to take a treatment, and I did. Before I got home that night I felt better. I had twenty-three days' treatment, and was healed of all my troubles. That was on March 24, 1921. The following May I began to do my work, and have worked ever since; and I am well and happy. I have had many other healings to be thankful for.

My husband was healed of a bad case of diabetes in ten days through Christian Science treatment. He went back to the doctor to be examined; and when not one trace of the disease was found, the doctor said, "It is over my head and beyond me what you have been doing." My husband told him he had taken Christian Science treatment. He said, "Go ahead and do all the praying you want to; it is beyond me." There have been other healings in our family, colds, sore throat, headaches, burns, and constipation having been overcome. They have all vanished as the result of the understanding of God, Truth and Love.

For all the physical healings I am very thankful; but I am most thankful for the spiritual uplift, and to know more about God's love and goodness; also, that the Comforter has come into my life, as Jesus promised. I am also grateful that I have learned to worship God "in spirit and in truth." I know His love casts out all fear and all evil. It is beautiful to trust God in every walk of life. If any one wishes to ask me any questions in regard to my healing, I shall be very glad to answer them.
